Rian poked his head in the refrigerator and glanced around. The shelves were bare except for a bottle of sparkling water, a couple of sausages and a tub of miso paste that had been there before he moved in. He really should have tossed it out but Tai wouldn’t let him. Tai was convinced that it was a tanuki or some other sort of shape-shifter that had taken up residence and was keeping the fridge free from leftovers. It was silly but Rian wasn’t about to argue with a dragon, especially not his dragon. Besides, as silly as it sounded, Tai’s theory certainly did explain the empty plates Rian kept finding in the fridge.
Either way, they were in dire need of groceries. Rian sat himself at the bar and wrote up a shopping list. Some sort of beef and shrimp went at the top of the list along with some frozen chicken for later in the week. Then two or three types of veggies, depending on what looked good at the market and some fruit. There were other things too; cereal, milk broth for soup and of course snacks. Tai loved snack foods and Rian was more than happy to get them for his handsome dragon.
“Good morning, love.” Tai wrapped those muscular arms around Rian midsection and nuzzled his shoulder. “What are you up to?”
“Figuring out a grocery list,” Rian turned and kissed Tai on the chin. Damn, Tai was gorgeous, especially with those pretty horns peeking through that long silver hair and that tail. He tugged on a bit of Tai’s hair teasingly. “I’ve been meaning to do this sooner but you keep distracting me.”
“And how do I do that?” Tai raised one silver eyebrow in curiosity.
“Wandering around naked for one thing.” Rian trailed his hand down Tai’s bare side. “I can’t concentrate on anything when I see you like that.”
“Well, I’ll make a deal with you.” Tai’s tail curled, brushing smooth silvery scales against Rian’s calf. “You come back to bed for a bit and I’ll put some clothes on and go shopping with you later.”
“What about work? Don’t you have to be at the office soon?”
“Nope, I took the day off. I can do that, you know. After all, it is my company.”
“Oh, good point.” Rian slid his arms around Tai’s neck and pulled him closer. Sex then shopping. That definitely sounded like a plan and a good one, too. “It’s been a while since I had you all to myself.”
“I know…” Tai brushed his fingers against Rian’s cheek. “Sorry about that.”
“It’s not your fault, Tai.” Rian turned a little and kissed his lover’s palm. “We’ve both been busy. But, we have all day together and I mean to take advantage of that and you.”
